John Guest Speedfit®

John Guest was founded in 1961 in Drayton, Middlesex by John Guest after whom it was named. By then he had already developed prototypes for hollow pressure die casting machinery which was the basis of the company. Over the next decade the company expanded its products from simple die-cast products and tool making to include products in the white goods and automotive industries. John Guest currently manufactures a range of underfloor heating solutions, drinks and beverages dispensers and air and pneumatic products. The John Guest business also expanded with new factories and offices in France, New Zealand, Italy and Germany. By 2004 it also had openings in Australia, Spain, Eastern Europe and the South Korea.

The famous John Guest Speedfit tube connecting concept was developed early on in the company’s history. This new product reduced assembly times to a few seconds as the instant tube-coupling system did not require any tools to put it together. This technology had a number of advantages over its rivals:

  • Faster installation time
  • No tools needed
  • Suitable for soft metal or plastic tubes
  • Quick disconnection
  • Re-usable
  • Superior flow characteristics
  • Food grade
  • John Guest has two Queen’s Awards for Export Achievements.
